This award is named after the late Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Carolyn Stell, the first female trial court judge in Ingham County, and it is conferred annually to a lawyer or judge in recognition of their contributions to the legal community and to the advancement of women in the legal profession.
Stell Memorial Scholarship Application
If you are interested in nominating a recipient for the 2022 Award, please submit the following to this address – wlammidmichigan@gmail.com – by no later than Friday, November 11, 2022 at 5:00 P.M.:
- The nominee’s name;
- A brief bio of the nominee (no more than 1 page), including any notable accomplishments, professional experiences, etc…; and
- A brief statement (no more than 1 page) supporting your nomination and identifying the nominee’s most significant contributions to the legal community and to the advancement of women in the legal profession
As noted above, the primary criteria for conferring the Award are:
- The nominee’s contributions to the legal community; and
- The nominee’s contributions to the advancement of women in the legal profession
The Award recipient will be selected by the 2022 Carolyn Stell Committee and honored at a dinner, along with the 2022 Caroyln Stell Scholarship, awarded to a deserving law student preparing for the Michigan Bar Examination.
