Message from the President

Welcome to WLAM Wayne Region!

It is a true honor to serve as the 2025-2026 President alongside such an exceptional group of women on our Board this year. Their dedication, creativity, and collaboration inspire me daily and give me confidence that WLAM Wayne will remain strong and vibrant long after my term concludes.

Of course, none of our progress would be possible without our members, sponsors, and supporters. Your commitment to our organization, to women, and to all diverse voices in the legal community fuels our mission. Together, we continue working not just toward equality, but toward equity, inclusion, and the creation of a legal profession where the next generation enters on the most level playing field yet.

This year, we are excited to present a full calendar of meaningful programming. We will kick off our Signature Events with our Annual Wine & Garden Party, generously hosted by the Honorable Brandy R. McMillion of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, on September 17, 2025 at 6:00 pm, at the Tompkins Community Center in Grosse Pointe Park. Following that, we will launch our Membership Drive with the goal of welcoming a historic number of new members into our community.

Additional highlights include our Winter Wine Down, Spring Wellness, and our much-anticipated Annual Meeting—where we will recognize award and scholarship recipients and swear in the new Board. Keep an eye out as well for announcements about our Social Club and Legal Libations series.

Our theme this year is “Rooted and Rising: Resurgence of Community Collaboration.” We are committed to maintaining connections with both the legal profession and our broader community partners to deliver programming that uplifts, empowers, and builds lasting connections throughout 2025–2026 and beyond.
