Message from the President
Welcome to the Mid-Michigan Region of WLAM! The goals of our Region are; to promote improvements in the administration of justice, to improve relations between the legal profession and the public, to secure the rights of women in society, to advance the interests of women in the legal profession, and to promote equality and social justice for all people.
The Mid-Michigan Region provides members and non-members with opportunities for networking, socializing, volunteering, fundraising, career development, and personal growth. We host events throughout our region, which includes Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, and Shiawassee Counties. For one example, each year our Region recognizes one outstanding female lawyer within our area and bestows our Stell Award to them, highlighting their accomplishments and contributions to our profession at our yearly gala. Additionally, we choose one exceptional female law student to receive (1) a fully paid bar prep course through our partners at Themis and (2) a $1,500 cash stipend to help offset the costs of studying for and taking the bar exam.
