Today WLAM celebrates its 103rd birthday! Since its formation by the “five ardent Portias” in 1919, WLAM has been leading the way for women in the law. In so doing we teach, learn, grow, and lift each other up. Through the years, WLAM has faced challenges and overcame obstacles. We spoke out on important issues. We advanced the legal profession for women, and on behalf of women. WLAM has come to stand for more than the advancement of women, but for all people in the community. That being said, our work and challenges are not over. As we embark on another year, let us be fearless, inclusive, strong, supportive, gracious, kind, assertive, and always lead by example. Most importantly, we should never give up.
