On June 10, 2021, the GLBR held its annual meeting at the Saginaw Club. The GLBR enjoyed an attendance of approximately 35 people who celebrated Hon. Celeste D. Bell, one of the region’s newest members and first female African American to serve on the Seventh Circuit Court for the County of Genesee. The region also presented its annual Margaret Louise Rorke Leadership Award to Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Karen Hansen of the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office, and honored Chief Jamie Zecman, the first female Police Chief for the City of Clio with the Liberty Bell Award. The meeting also featured keynote speaker Saginaw County Clerk Vannessa Guerra, the first latina Saginaw County Clerk, and former Michigan House of Representative for the 95th District.

On July 23, 2021, GLBR partnered with Great Lakes Bay Women in Leadership to host a golf outing at Twin Oaks in Freelend, Michigan. The event offered an opportunity for WLAM and local women leaders to network and fundraise for “Women in Leadership Gives Back Program”.
Upcoming regional events include:
- September 16, 2021, BAR REVIEW, a new event series to offer networking opportunities across the expansive Great Lakes Bay Region. The event will take place from 6:30-8:30PM, at Soaring Eagle Casino, in Isabella County.
