Oakland | WBA Update Summer 2022

On May 26, 2022, the Women’s Bar Association (WBA) held its Annual Dinner at the Birmingham Athletic Club. The Hon. Denise Langford-Morris was awarded the Joan Young Judicial Excellence Award, Channelle Kizy-White was awarded the Evelyn Forrest Distinguished Advocate Award, and rising second-year law student from Wayne State University Law School, Alexandria Sharpe, was awarded the Sarah Killgore Wertman Scholarship. The 2022-2023 Executive Board was sworn-in by Judge Kameshia D. Gant.

The WBA read Bossypants by Tina Fey for our June Literary Ladies Book Club.  We are looking forward to continuing our Literary Ladies Book Club! Be sure to follow the WBA on social media and sign-up for our email list to stay up to date with future Book Club events.   

The WBA will be holding its July Bar Briefs on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 5 p.m. at Public House in Ferndale. The WBA will be holding its annual Summer Planning Meeting on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 10 to 12 p.m. in Rochester Hills. The location of the Summer Planning Meeting will be provided upon RSVPing. All are welcomed to attend these events and can RSVP to wbaoakland@gmail.com.
