Calling all Judicial Candidates!
The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan’s Candidate Rating & Endorsement Committee invites all candidates seeking a judicial position to seek out a rating and endorsement from the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (WLAM). Each candidate, seeking election or re-election in November 2022, who participates in the process will be given one of the following ratings by WLAM: Outstanding, Highly Recommended, Recommended, Not Recommended, or No Rating. Note that these ratings categories involve new criteria, recommended by the CREC and adopted by the WLAM Board in June 2022.
Judicial candidates who desire an endorsement and rating from WLAM should fill out the Candidate Questionnaire (see link below) and submit it to the WLAM’s Candidate Rating & Endorsement Committee (CREC) by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022. We cannot guarantee that judicial candidates who submit applications for endorsement after the June 24, 2022 deadline will be endorsed in time for the primary, but may still receive endorsement in time for the November election.
The CREC plans to hold judicial candidate interviews by Zoom at the end of June and beginning of July. The CREC will make every effort to get its rating and endorsement recommendations to the WLAM Board by mid-July, 2022 at the latest.
